Venue Rules

Please read carefully before your session.

Please report to the office on arrival. It is unacceptable to walk around the lakes prior to checking in.

1.

You must be in possession of a current valid EA rod licence.

2.

All leaders are banned — tubing only. Rig checks will be carried out on a regular basis.

3.

No fake baits. Such as plastics, sweetcorn, foam and zig bugs.

4.

All nets, mats, slings and waders must be dipped in tanks provided.

5.

All nets must be at least 42". All mats must be padded and large enough to take 50lb fish.

6.

All anglers are required to have at least one empty bucket for fish care at all times.

7.

All anglers must have carp care kits.

8.

Any particles used in conjunction must be purchased onsite. You are not allowed to use your own particles including nuts. Sweetcorn is banned.

9.

Baits such as maggots/worms/caster are to be used in moderation with a limit of 2 pints per angler per 48hr period.

10.

Minimum of 15lb mainline to be used including zig rigs at all times.

11.

No braided mainline. Braid only permitted on spod or marker rods. Spods and spombs to be used in conjunction with float system.

12.

No fixed leads. Naked chod rigs are permitted.

13.

Micro barbed hooks only to be used.

14.

No rods are to be left unattended — anyone found doing so will be asked to leave immediately.

15.

Maximum of 3 rods are to be used on Orchid lake, maximum 2 on club lake. If you are doubled up, 2 rods each only.

16.

Baitboats are permitted but you must stay within the boundaries of your swim.

17.

Absolutely no litter left in or around the swims. All swims are to be kept tidy at all times.

18.

No guns, knives, laser pens, swimming, loud music, drugs and heavy drinking are accepted at any time.

19.

No fires. Portable/disposable barbecues can be used but take care not to scorch the grass or swims and please take away the burnt ash. BBQ must be raised off the ground.

20.

Fishing is only permitted from designated swims. Please check swim maps for clarity.

21.

Do not damage any bankside vegetation or trees and respect all wildlife.

22.

All cars are to be parked in the car park — do not drive around the lake. When entering or leaving the fishery, please drive carefully and keep speed to the minimum.

23.

Drones are banned.

24.

No trespassing in surrounding buildings, industrial estates, lakes and farmland.

25.

If you become snagged or have a fish stuck in the weed do not hesitate to call a bailiff or the fishery manager. Our bailiffs will assist in the boat if necessary. It is completely unacceptable to pull for a break — please notify a bailiff of any crack offs.

26.

Wading is only permitted to aid in the safe landing, return of fish and photography. No wading out rigs. Swimming is NOT allowed.

27.

Any 30lb+ fish during opening hours must be reported to the bailiffs to verify the weight and check the fish's health. Any fish damage is to be reported to a bailiff no matter the size, and carp care kits must be implemented.

28.

Any 40lb+ fish must be photographed in the water.

29.

Anyone found defecating on the bank-side or grounds around the lake will be asked to leave immediately. Use the toilets located at the lodge.

30.

Before lifting any fish from the water it should be checked to make sure that the fins are flat against the body. You must use a sling and not a net.

31.

Fish are not to be retained except while photography equipment is being set up — retaining fish in sacks is NOT permitted. Fish may only be retained in a landing net for a short period of time. You will be asked to leave the fishery and face a ban if you are caught retaining fish for any long periods of time.

32.

Well behaved dogs are welcome. All dogs must be kept with you on a lead and under control at all times.

33.

No fish to be removed from the fishery or transferred into the fishery. No fish to be transferred between Orchid lake and the Club lake.

34.

Children under the age of 18 years are allowed to fish only with adult supervision. The adult must be over 21; this is an insurance stipulation. There must be a ratio of one adult to one child unless otherwise agreed with the manager.

35.

Guests are allowed but only 1 guest per angler.

36.

Entrance to the fishery is strictly via the main entrance only. No climbing over the fence.

Spot checks will be carried out. Any person found not abiding by the rules will be asked to leave and may be banned by the fishery. If you see any angler leaving rubbish, using leaders, acting inappropriately or breaking the rules, please report this to a bailiff.
